Easy Deal of the Week: Five Free Bottles of Old Spice Body Wash

That's Almost $30 Worth of Old Spice!

I hit Walgreens to pick up my Sunday paper and scored almost $30 worth of free Old Spice products. I used three coupons from the 5/2 PG insert to make this awesome deal happen. This week Old Spice body wash is on sale for $4.49 and you’ll get $4.50 in Register Rewards when you buy one. I used two buy one get one free coupons to get four free bottles. Then I used another coupon that gave me a free deodorant when I bought another Old Spice body wash. I had to ring this up in three different transactions and I ended up with five free body washes and one free deodorant worth nearly $30! I’ll be donating some of this, and the rest should keep my husband stocked up for a while.

Baby Food Deals at Babies “R” Us

Baby Food from Babies "R" Us

Baby Food from Babies "R" Us

Last week I told you how to get free baby food from Babies “R” Us by becoming their fan on Facebook. I was able to get three $5 e-gift certificates through this offer. This weekend I took them in to our local Babies “R” Us and I was able to get a lot of baby food for less than $2. All of this will be sent to Haiti through a donation drive that my church organized. The Gerber two-packs were on sale for $1 each when you buy ten, regularly $1.29 to $1.69. The Revolution Mashups were buy one, get one half off. My total came to $16.73 which meant I only owed $1.73 after my e-gift certificates. Regular price, this baby food would have cost $23.58.

Great Weekend for Saving Money: $259.78 Saved!

While many were celebrating Halloween my husband and I were starting our Christmas shopping. We are buying gifts for his side of the family now so we can send them back to Ireland with my mother and father-in-law when they head back next week. That way we avoid shipping costs! So we did quite a bit of shopping this weekend (and not all of it was gifts!) but we accomplished a lot and saved a bundle– $259.78 to be exact!

Friday:

Publix (Groceries): Spent $18.88, Saved $73.96, Saving 80%

Off Broadway Shoes (Work Shoes for Husband, Used Coupon and Sale): Spent $54.83, Saved $18.17, Saving 26%

Earth Fare (Groceries, Pantry Makeover Coupon): Spent $0, Saved $5.15, Saving 100%

Sunday:

Publix (Groceries): Spent $44.86, Saved $56.13, Saving 56%

Walgreens (Groceries and newspaper): Spent $.25, Saved $6.62, Saving 96%

Kodak Gallery (Photo Book Gift, Used $15 Credit Offer): Spent 1.99, Saved $14.63, Saving 88%

Monday:

BarnesandNoble.com (Gift, Used Membership Discount and Coupon Code Found Online): Spent $20.20, Saved $5.65, Saving 22%

This weekend we also called Charter to lower our cable bill after it shot up from $108 to $165. We are now back down to $83. We also called to cancel our satellite radio service which was $20 a month and they ended up giving us five months for free with no obligation to continue after that. So it was a great weekend for saving money!

I Was a Payless Shoes Snob

payless heelsBut I’m not anymore! Check out these cute purple pumps I picked up today! Aren’t they lovely? I used the 50% off coupon from the Oprah Show to get half off my ENTIRE PURCHASE! I thought it was just on one item, but it’s actually good for everything you buy. I also picked up a couple pairs of super cute slippers which I believe will make great Christmas gifts. The coupon is only good for the rest of today so hurry!

Look Out for Coupons in Magazines

True ValueTwo of the magazines I subscribe to, Better Homes and Gardens and This Old House, both had valuable coupons tucked inside this month. It’s a $5 off a $25 purchase at True Value hardware store. Even if you don’t shop at True Value you can use this coupon at Home Depot or Lowes because they both accept competitor coupons. I have done this several times without a problem. Even if you don’t subscribe to these magazines you could still pick up an issue for less than $5 and you’ll have a valuable coupon plus some fresh reading material!

I donated two bottles of Dry Idea roll-on deodorant to a local shelter today– along with a bunch of other stuff. I picked it up for free last night at Target. It’s on sale for $2 (regularly about $3.50 I think) and I used two of these $2 off coupons which made it free. Hurry because this may only be on sale through Saturday!

Cash in on Freebies at Kmart with Double Coupons

kmart

kmart

Select Kmart stores are offering double coupons up to $2 this week. Check the Kmart website or call your local store to see if they are participating. There are a few rules to this deal. For starters, you can’t use coupons printed off from the Internet. Secondly, Kmart doesn’t pay out overages. So if you have a $1 off coupon and your using it on an item that costs $1.49, you don’t get the extra $.51. Finally, stores limit the number of coupons you can use to 75, but apparently this is only monitored by the cashiers.

Many coupon users are finding great deals using Kmart’s double coupon sale. Some items are even ringing up free. I was able to score free Gillette body wash and free Revlon lip gloss thanks to the sale. I also bought a box of Total cereal for $.50. If you snagged any incredible deals at Kmart this week, be sure to let us know. Otherwise, check out this forum for Kmart freebies.

If you really love this promotion, let Kmart know. Some people started the website KmartDoubles.com to urge the company to continue to offer this great promotion. So sign the petition and hopefully you’ll get other chances to cash in on freebies at Kmart with double coupons.
