Easy Deal of the Week: Free Ecotrin

It’s time to stock up on pain reliever! The title of this post isn’t actually accurate because this Ecotrin is better than free. You can actually make $2 on each bottle of it at Walgreens this week. Print off these $2 off coupons for Ecotrin.  You should be able to print it twice. I had three $2 off coupons and the bottles of Ecotrin are on sale for $2 at Walgreens. Plus when you buy them you’ll get $2 in Register Rewards. I had to pay $.12 in tax for each transaction. Make sure you ring them up separately because otherwise you won’t get all of your Register Rewards! I plan to donate mine because I already have plenty of free pain reliever from past transactions. You should have enough free pain reliever to take care of all of your headaches this summer. :-)

Baby Food Deals at Babies “R” Us

Baby Food from Babies "R" Us

Baby Food from Babies "R" Us

Last week I told you how to get free baby food from Babies “R” Us by becoming their fan on Facebook. I was able to get three $5 e-gift certificates through this offer. This weekend I took them in to our local Babies “R” Us and I was able to get a lot of baby food for less than $2. All of this will be sent to Haiti through a donation drive that my church organized. The Gerber two-packs were on sale for $1 each when you buy ten, regularly $1.29 to $1.69. The Revolution Mashups were buy one, get one half off. My total came to $16.73 which meant I only owed $1.73 after my e-gift certificates. Regular price, this baby food would have cost $23.58.

Pick Up Free Baby Food to Send to Haiti

This Formula Would Only Cost You $2

This Formula Would Only Cost You $2

My church is currently collecting items to send to Haiti for earthquake relief efforts. A member of my church has an aunt and uncle who run the Jean Cadet Restavek Foundation which has worked for years to end child slavery in Haiti. They are now setting up a clinic and working to keep the children safe after the earthquake destroyed so many buildings and lives. To aid this foundation’s efforts we are collecting items like blankets, non-perishable food, baby food and baby formula. The items can be dropped of at the Christian publishing house Ambassador International from now until February 5. The offices are located at 427 Wade Hampton Blvd. in Greenville. You can stop by Monday through Friday from 9-5 and Saturday from 10-2.

Today only if you become a fan of Babies R Us on Facebook, you’ll receive a free $5 e-gift card that can also be used in the store. The coupon will be sent to your email inbox after you sign up. It’s good until 2/20, but why not go ahead and use it now to pick up some free baby food or discounted formula to send to Haiti? According to what’s available online you’ll be able to score lots of free food or an 8-pack of formula for just $2 after you use your coupon. It won’t cost you much– or anything at all– and you’ll be helping a great cause!

I Actually Made Money Shopping for Charity??

I got a little surprise when I pulled out my charity receipts for September. Turns out I bought $59.59 worth of items which was down over recent months. (I think the reason for that was because I was busy planning a charity event so that took up a lot of my time.) But to my surprise I made $5.80 on those purchases. I guess that means I saved about 110% on my charity purchases for September. Yep, that’s right. I actually made money shopping for charity. Here’s a look at what I was able to purchase for local shelters in my community:

Two Tubes of Toothpaste

Two Sticks of Deodorant

Two Bottles of Shampoo

One Package of Floss Picks

One Bag of Coffee

One Bottle of Bleach

Two Bottles of Glass Cleaner

One Box of Pancake Mix

One Jar of Pickles

Four Toothbrushes

Donate Your Car To Someone Who Needs It With Donate a Car 2 Charity

donateacar2charityI write a lot about donating groceries, school supplies and bathroom necessities on this blog, but what about trying to donate car? It can be a good option if you’re looking for an easy way to get rid of a vehicle while helping someone else out at the same time. Check out Donate A Car 2 Charity. It’s a great and hassle free way to give your car to someone who needs it. Here are a few benefits for using DonateaCar2Charity.com for getting rid of your unwanted car:

1. They’ll pick it up and often within 24 hours.

2. It’s a free service, including towing your car away if necessary.

3. They’ll evaluate your car so you know what kind of a tax deduction you can get.

4. They promise excellent service.

5. All proceeds benefit Christian charity Activated Ministries, an organization dedicated to helping those in need, sharing God’s Word with others through the distribution of Christian outreach materials and providing support to missionaries of the gospel.

To get started with Donate A Car 2 Charity all you need to do is fill out this online form, then someone will follow up with you shortly to set up arrangements for your car donation. You will receive a reference number so you can track the process online. When it comes to the tax benefits, if your car is worth more than $500, you’ll receive a receipt once your vehicle is sold, showing the amount that it was sold for. You can then write off that entire amount on your taxes. If your car is worth less than $500, then you can simply claim the value of your car up to $500. For more information on the tax benefits of donating a car to charity, check out this information from the IRS.

One of the amazing things about DonateaCar2Charity.com is that they will accept vehicles donations regardless of whether the car runs. The only exception to this would be cars that are worth less than the cost of towing them. But if you’ve got a car sitting in your garage or driveway that you want to get rid of quickly, why not give it to someone who will do something positive with it? Vehicle donations are a great way to do more with your money.

Shop For a Cause: Cute Gifts Help Guatamalan Orphanage

vespa cozyI just came across this cute Etsy shop this morning. I have a thing for Vespa’s since I spent about a week last summer riding one for charity. These Vespa cozies from Etsy shop Laurabucci are just $12 a piece, plus from now until the end of August a portion of your purchase goes to a great cause. Two dollars from each item sold in this online shop will go towards purchasing paint for Seeds of Love orphanage in Parramos, Guatemala. One gallon of paint is about $12.50 so each purchase will help significantly towards the goal of 40 gallons. You can also donate $2 without making a purchase by visiting laurabucci.com. I think this definitely is an example of doing more with your money.

Walgreens Freeb Body Wash and Cheap Deodorant

wg-freebiesI picked up some free St. Ives body wash at Walgreens today. If you have the $1.50 off coupon this could be a moneymaker for you, but I didn’t have one. I did have a coupon that gave me $1 off two Soft and Dry deodorants which were just $.99 each with the in-ad coupon. That meant I got all of this stuff for just a little over a buck once tax was included. That’s over $10 worth of stuff I’ll be donating to a local homeless shelter.
